| Scientific Name Notes | Schmidt (1986) reported Yamaguti (1959) to be the first to place B. rossittensis to Khawia but Markevich (1951) synonymised Bothrioscolex, which implied transfer of its species to Khawia; Fotedar (1958) first explicitly listed K. rossittensis. |

Fig. 6. Khawia rossittensis (Szidat, 1937) from Carassius auratus, Japan (A, C) (IPCAS C-339/2) and Slovakia (B, D) (ESMK 522/03, 205/06). A, D - anterior part of the body (note the anterior position of the first vitelline follicles, which begin just posterior to the neck region, anterior to the first testes); B, C - posterior part of the body, ventral (note an inverted A-shaped ovary and the absence of vitelline follicles alongside the ovary).
