Host Notes Originally described from larvae in the tissue of presumably a species of Lepidopus in the stomach of "Heptanchus cinereus". Beveridge & Campbell (2013) provide the following other host records in their redescription: Hexanchus griseus; Lepidorhombus whiffiagonis; Molva dypterygia. See Bates (199) and Palm (2004) for other host records.

Specimen Notes Material examined by Campbell & Beveridge (2013) for their redescription is as follows: Adults: from Hexanchus griseus (Bonnaterre), 8 specimens (identified as Grillotia institata), Naples, Italy, coll. F. Zschokke, 17.i.1886 (MHNG 37258, 37263, 40835); 2 specimens (identified as Tentacularia megabothridia), Puget Sound, USA, coll. J. E. Lynch, 1937 (MHNG 3573.2); 2 slides of gravid segments, Trieste, Italy, coll. T. Pintner (NMV 3530-1). Plerocerci: 5 specimens, from body muscles, Lepidorhombus whiffiagonis (Walbaum) (= Zeugopterus megastoma), Marche de Paris (MNHN Bd 19-79); 2 specimens, from muscle, Molva dypterygia (Pennant), ‘‘S.S.Thalassa’’ stn B248 (MNHN Bd 19:77-79).
