Scientific Name Notes | Pintner (1927) altered the spelling of the specific epithet from equidentatus to aequidentatus, presumably on grammatical grounds, so that the name referred to equally dentate rather than to an equine connotation. An explanation is given by Dollfus (1929, p. 337, footnote 1), explaining that the original spelling was a lapsus. |
