Subspecies
Additional Host(s) Bathyraja richardsoni (definitive host); Coryphaenoides armatus, Coryphaenoides carapinus, Coryphaenoides leptolepis (intermediate hosts) (as reported by Campbell, 1977)
Site in Host mesentery
Host Notes Additional hosts as per Beveridge & Campbell 2012): Trachyrincus murrayi, Coelorhynchus fasciatus, Coryphaenoides brevibarbis. Campbell (1977) did not formally specify a type host in his original description of Grillotia (Paragrillotia) rowei Campbell, 1977; however, the specimen he identifies at the holotype came from the intermediate host Coryphaenoides armatus (as reported in Beveridge & Campbell [2012]) and thus that is here considered the type host.

Locality Notes "Hudson Submarine Canyon in northwest Atlantic, adjacent continental rise and abyssal plain at depths of 1,947 to 4,815 m." (Campbell, 1977). Additional localities provided by Beveridge & Campbell (2012): North Atlantic Ocean (56°34'N, 9°31'W), depth 1310-1445 m. 21.ix.1991, Challenger station 86/91/14/2 (2 plerocerci from Trachyrincus murrayi); North Atlantic Ocean (56°34'N, 9°31'W), depth 1310-1445 m. 21.ix.1991, Challenger station 86/91/14/3 (1 plerocercus from Coelorhynchus fasciatus); Porcupine Sea Bight, North Atlantic Ocean (49°54'N, 12°46'W), depth 2500 m, lO.x.2002, Discovery D 266, stn 15052-5 (2 plerocerci from Coryphaenoides brevibarbis).

Specimens

Type Material "Holotype and Paratypes: USNM Helm. Coll. Nos. 74487 and 74488" (Campbell, 1977)
Total Number of Type Specimens 1 holotype, 4 paratypes (as reported in Beveridge & Campbell [2012])
Voucher Material "Measurements based on 10 plerocerci and 1 immature adult" (Campbell, 1977)
Specimen Notes Beveridge & Campbell (2012) list BMNH 2011.10.10.1-3, an immature adult from Bathyraja richardsoni, as a paratype in their report of type material examined. This specimen was not, however, designated as a paratype by Campbell (1977). Additional material examined by Beveridge & Campbell (2012): BMNH 1992.3.24.1-2 (2 plerocerci from T. murrayi); BMNH 1992.6.25.81 (1 plerocercus from C. fasciatus); BMNH 2003.6.5.2-3 (2 plerocerci from C. brevibarbis)
