Host Notes Olsson (1868) refers to the type host of Tetrabothrium norvegicum as both "Spinax niger" (in the original description) as well as "Spinacis nigri" (in the figure caption for the original line drawings of T. norvegicum). In moving T. norvegicum to the genus Aporhynchus, Nybelin (1918) refers to the type host as "Etmopterus spinax". In his redescription of the species, Beveridge (1990) also refers to the type host as Etomopterus spinax, but provides a third synonym by adding "(=Spinax spinax)".
