Redescription
Scientific Name Notes Diesing (1854) lists Acanthobothrium leuckartii and Calliobothrium leuckartii under his entry of Onchobothrium heteracanthum; we believe that Diesing (1854) considers the former two species to be synonyms of O. heteracanthum but never explicitly states that fact; the name O. heteracanthum does not seem to be associated with any material other than that of the former two species Diesing (1854) uses this name but doesn’t explicitly indicate that it is a new name; but we find this to be the first use of this name
