Scientific Name Notes - Fuhrmann (1932) synonymized Progynotaenia fuhmanni with Progynotaenia odhneri -Ryzhikov & Tolkacheva (1981) synonymized Progynotaenia americana with Progynotaenia odhneri -Johri (1963) synonymized Progynotaenia longicirrata with Progynotaenia odhneri, and states that since Progynotaenia leucura is a synonym of Progynotaenia longicirrata, P. leucura also becomes a synonym of P. odhneri -while Williams (1960) suggests that Progynotaenia americana and P. longicirrata are possibly identical to P. odhneri, Johri (1963) formally synonymized Progynotaenia longicirrata with Progynotaenia odhneri -Baer (1940) synonymized Progynotaenia pauciannulata, partim with Progynotaenia evaginata sensu Baer and Progynotaenia pauciannulata, partim with Progynotaenia odhneri - Baer (1940) synonymized Progynotaenia foetida with Progynotaenia odhneri -Ryzhikov & Tolkacheva (1981) synonymized Progynotaenia evaginata sensu Meggitt (1928) and Baer (1940) with Progynotaenia odhneri
