EXPLANATION OF PLATE: All figures were made with the aid of a camera lucida except figure 1 which was drawn from a projection of the whole-mount. The scale for figure 1 equals 10 mm. The scale for figure 3 equals 1.0 mm; for figures 2 and 6 equals 0.20 mm; for figures 5, 7, and 8 equals 0.10 mm; and for figure 4 equals 0.05 mm. FIG. 1. Dorsal view of holotype of Amphilina bipunctata. FIG. 2. Anastomosing vasa efferentia uniting to form the vas deferens. FIG. 3. Ventral view of the genital complex of the holotype. The ventral ovarian lobe which normally covers the anterior end of the Mehlis' gland is not known. The ducts are in- completely figured inside the Mehlis' gland. FIG. 4. Transverse section of the anterior portion of the ejaculatory duct. FIG. 5. Transverse section of one of the lateral nerve trunks showing dorsal and ventral nerves arising from ganglia on the outer side. FIG. 6. Transverse section through the ovary, seminal recptacle and Mehlis' gland, showing the union of the ascending oviduct with the seminal duct. The uterus containing fragments of an egg lies dorsal in the Mehlis' gland. FIG. 7. Transverse section through the base of the apical organ. The dark bodies are secretion droplets in the unicellular glands. FIG. 8. Transverse section of the dermo-muscular sac.
