Redescription
Scientific Name Notes This species is essentially unrecognizable based on its original description, was not illustrated, and is therefore considered a species inquirenda. Given that Tylocephalum and Lecanicephalum are now accepted as distinct genera (see, e.g., Euset [1994] and Jensen [2005]), Schmidt's synonymy of Tylocephalum with Lecanicephalum was not justified and the original combination of this name should be retained as valid.
