Redescription
Scientific Name Notes Taxonomic status based on Jensen (2005) and Cielocha & Jensen (2011). "Also described from Gymnura was Cephalobothrium gymnurae Zaidi & Khan, 1976, a species overall consistent in morphology with the revised diagnosis of Hexacanalis (see Zaidi & Khan, 1976). Because of the lack of detail presented in the original description and unknown whereabouts of the type-specimens, at this time, the generic placement of this species in Hexacanalis cannot be supported. Additional specimens are needed to confirm or deny the presence of six excretory vessels." (Cielocha & Jensen, 2011; pg. 11).
