| Scientific Name Notes | Hunter (1930) transferred, yet tentatively, the species to Monobothrioides, but it is listed erroneously within Caryophyllaeus by Schmidt (1986) (the species has cortical vitelline follicles, i.e., as lytocestids). |

Global Cestode Database
Caryophyllaeus chalmersius Fig. 1 (X 2): the two entire specimens as mounted on slides. Fig. 2, a, b, c (X 24): three heads, showing the longitudinal grooves and terminal depression. Fig. 2 c is much contracted. Figs. 2a and 2c represent the heads of my two entire specimens. The anterior vitellaria are shown. Fig. (X 35): the hind extremity of the contracted specimen, showing the chief organs. it is noticeable that the coils of the uterus extend both anteriorly to the genital openings and posteriorly to the shell-gland. Fig. 4 (X 78): transverse section across the middle of the testicular region.
