Scientific Name Notes -Although Wagener (1852) gives the name as Amphiptyches urna Grube and Wagener, Wagener alone authored the paper and thus Wagener alone should be cited as the authority of this species name.] Revision: This genus appears to have been erected in Wagener (1852) as part of his description of A. urna. However, he attributed not himself, but "Grube and Wagener" as the authorities for the genus and species name.
