Redescription
Scientific Name Notes This genus appears to have been erected in Wagener (1852) as part of his description of A. urna. However, he attributed not himself, but "Grube and Wagener" as the authorities for the genus and species name. Wagener (1858) was the first to consider Amphiptyches a synonym of Gyrocotyle Diesing, 1850.
