Specimens
| Type Material | Holotype (NMNS 7999-001) and 4 paratypes (1 worm [NMNS 7999-005] and 3 detached dehisced proglottids [NMNS 7999-002–7999-004]); 1 paratype (1 worm [NMMB PL000001]); 7 paratypes (3 worms [USNM 1480607–1480609], 1 detached mature proglottid [USNM 1480603], 3 detached dehisced proglottids [USNM 1480604–1480606]); 12 paratypes (5 worms [LRP 9940–9944], 3 detached dehisced proglottids [LRP 9945–9947], 1 lactophenol cocoon mount [LRP 9948], 3 SEM vouchers [LRP 9949–9951]); specimens prepared for SEM retained with JNC at the University of Connecticut. Hologenophores of 2 worms and photographic voucher of 1 proglottid for which 28S rDNA (D1–D3) sequence data were generated are deposited in the LRP (9952, 9953, and 9939, respectively). |

Figure 1. Line drawings of Pentaloculum hoi n. sp. (A) Whole worm (holotype, NMNS 7999-001). (B) Scolex (paratype, USNM 148069). Stars denote anterior single loculus of each bothridium. (C) Detached mature proglottid (paratype, USNM 1480603). (D) Detail of terminal genitalia in detached dehisced proglottid (paratype, USNM 1480606). (E) Detached dehisced proglottid (paratype, USNM 1480606).
Figure 3. Cocoons of Pentaloculum hoi n. sp. (A) Entire cocoon. (B)
Detail of onchospheres.
Figure 2. Scanning electron micrographs of Pentaloculum hoi n. sp. (A) Whole worm. (B) Scolex; small letters indicate locations of details in
micrographs D–G. Stars denote anterior single loculus of each bothridium. (C) Detached proglottid; small letter indicates location of detail in
micrograph H. (D) Slender, conspicuously aristate gladiate spinitriches and capilliform filitriches on apical region of scolex. (E) Large, slightly aristate
gladiate spinitriches on scolex proper; filitriches not seen. (F) Slender, conspicuously aristate gladiate spinitriches and capilliform filitriches on distal
bothridial surfaces. (G) Conspicuously aristate gladiate spinitriches and capilliform filitriches on proximal bothridial surfaces. (H) Capilliform filitriches
on detached proglottid.
