Redescription
Scientific Name Notes	Linton first used this name in 1889 (Citation 267) in a communication about his 1890 publication (Citation No. 1011), but provided no description of the type species, R. pulvinatum or the genus at that time and thus the 1889 record is considered to be a Nomen nudum. In 1890 Linton noted that he felt he had been "misled" (pg. 759) by the morphology and placed his new species in Anthobothrium as A. pulvinatum. However, in 1890 he also noted that he believed he was in error in establishing a new genus for A. pulvinatum, which he described in detail in the 1890 publication. However, as a consequence Linton (1890) also formally established both Rhodobothrium and its type species R. pulvinatum. Determined to be a genus of the Rhinebothriidea by Healy et al (2009) and Ruhnke (2011).
