Redescription
Scientific Name Notes Spasskii (1954) considered H. sciurina Cholodkowsky, 1913 from squirrels (Sciuridae) as synonym of Arostrilepis horrida (Linstow, 1901) on the basis of the similarity of their egg morphology (embryophore with pointed ends) and the presence of armed cirrus. Latter it was shown that A. horrida represents a complex of cryptic species. The inadequate original description and lack of type material of H. sciurina did not allow comparisons with the species of the genus Arostrilepis. For this reason, this species had been regarded as species inquirendae (see Makarikov et al., 2011)
